Your data
Privacy Policy
What we collect when you order, why we need it, and how long we keep it.
1. Who controls your data
Naga Indian & Bangladeshi Takeaway is the data controller for the information described here. Contact us with any privacy question or request.
2. What we collect
- Order details — the items in your basket and any notes you add.
- Contact and delivery details — your name, phone number, email address and delivery address.
- Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe through our ordering partner wotFood. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and the last four digits of the card, never the full card number.
- Technical data — basic information your browser sends, plus the local storage this site uses to remember your basket between pages.
3. Why we use it
- To take, cook and deliver your order — this is necessary to perform our contract with you.
- To contact you about a specific order, such as a missing item or an access problem.
- To keep records for tax and accounting, which we're legally required to do.
- To protect against fraud and abuse, which is in our legitimate interest as a small business.
We do not send marketing unless you have asked us to, and you can stop it at any time by telling us.
4. Who we share it with
Your details are shared only with the people needed to complete your order: wotFood, who operate the ordering and checkout system; Stripe, who process the payment; and our delivery driver, who receives your name, address and phone number. We do not sell your data or share it for advertising.
5. How long we keep it
Order and payment records are kept for six years to meet UK tax requirements. Delivery details held in the kitchen are destroyed shortly after the order is complete. Your basket is stored in your own browser and clears when you empty it or clear your browser data.
6. Cookies and local storage
This site uses only what it needs to work — local storage for your basket, and cookies set by wotFood and Stripe during checkout for security and fraud prevention. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, and ask for it in a portable format. Call the shop and ask for the manager to make a request; we'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
8. Changes to this policy
We'll update this page if our practices change, and the date above will tell you when it last happened.
